The NFL is whipping through October and by the time the Week 8 slate comes out, we’ll be well into November and into Daylight Savings Time.
Last week, both the 49ers and Chiefs lost, bringing us to one undefeated team. The Vikings are considered the weakest of the three, but remain the only undefeated team in the NFL. They swept the Colts last week, but now travel to face the Lions in an NFC North matchup.
This week opens with a Panthers-Packers matchup with big NFC South and North implications. Both teams are sitting at or around .500, but both are right in the playoff race. On Sunday, the Ravens could welcome Lemar Jackson in a preview of what could come when they travel to face the Bills. One of Sunday’s most intriguing matchups will be the 5-2 Steelers hosting the 5-2 Browns. Both teams continued to win, albeit in less than glamorous fashion. Sunday afternoon’s slate features the 5-2 Broncos hosting the 5-1 Chiefs and first place in the AFC West on the line. The weekend will wrap up in the NFC playoffs as the 4-3 Seahawks host the 5-2 Bears.
I’m back for another week and I’m a .500 hitter. Last week I went 6-8 which got me back to even .500 on the season (53-53-1). I feel like it takes some skill to make this middle choice. This past week I was 1-1 in high confidence polls, 4-3 in mid-level polls, and 1-4 in low confidence polls.
Just to remind you that I pick games with winners and losers, but I also offer a level of confidence. I pick the winner of each game and rank the picks based on their confidence level – high, medium, low and no. A game with three asterisks (***) indicates a game in which I will select the bet to win. Whether or not you have to assign confidence points, this will help you know where I stand with the polls. And within each group, I ordered them by confidence level.
