Johan Manzambi 36′
Johan Manzambi scored the only goal as Aston Villa got a well-deserved victory a Newcastle to increase the pressure on the head of the house, Matthias Jaissle.
Newcastle fans were hoping for a response after Monday night’s 4-1 drubbing at Coventry, but while their side showed plenty of aggression with a series of wild challenges, they lacked quality in the final third.
The final whistle was met with loud boos with Jaissle already looking in danger.
The same cannot be said for Unai Emery, for whom it has been a good few days, this victory comes after a 6-0 thrashing of Fenerbahce in the Champions League.
