A number of major stars have recently returned to WWE NXT. In the case of Grayson Waller, his the revival came after NXT officials reached out to him about strengthening the men’s division of the brand. At the same time, Natalya contacted the head booker of “NXT” Shawn Michaels with the idea of working with a rising star, namely Jaida Parker.
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, not a single person asked me to come to NXT,” Natalya (also known as Natty) said. “Opened after dark.” “It wasn’t like, oh, he was being asked to go down there because he’s trying to take somebody’s place. I told Sean. He has this dog in him that I’m like, I have to test the character of Natty against him. I feel like she’s like a female Jacob Fatu. She just has an edge about her that’s very, very different from other girls.”
Natalya appeared again May 5th edition of NXT Approaching Parker backstage. After her loss to Kali Armstrong that night, Parker appeared disappointed; The WWE veteran then called him a “softie” causing Parker will retaliate by invading The Dungeon 2.0 shortly after.
“Every girl I work with, I want them to go drive a Nattie Ferrari. I had the performance of my life because I got to work with Natty,” Natalya added, referencing other NXT talent like Kendall Gray and Thea Hale. He and Parker went on to wrestle each other three times, two of which Parker won.
Natalya believes Parker did her “Best Face Job” to date.
“Again, a little bit internally, I asked if I could stay a little longer and work with Jayda because I see a lot in her,” Natalya said. “I love her, but I also feel like I got nervous with Jaida. I was annoyed when I called her soft. I didn’t realize how sensitive he was about that. I had no idea it was really that deep with him. I was nervous when I told her to make herself comfortable.
Parker and Natalya faced off in their first ring June 16 edition of NXT, where a tight Sharpshooter forced the young “NXT” star to tap out. A: white towel throw from Thea Hail Parker later helped even the score against the Locke legend the following month. time “NXT” Heatwave, Parker once again defeated Natalyathis time a rubber match with a submission condition attached; Parker used Natalya’s signature hold against her to pick up the win.
As of this writing, it is unclear if the Parker-Natalia feud will return in the future. Regardless, Natalya believes her efforts have helped propel the young talent to the next level, and more than that, produced her “best work” to date in NXT.
