Former Raptors guard Marquis Nowell signed a training camp agreement with Pelicans, tweets Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot. The former Kansas State star spent most of the 2023-24 season under a two-way contract with Toronto after going undrafted in 2023.
Nowell played for Baskonia last season, averaging 5.7 points and 3.0 assists in 28 EuroLeague games with the Spanish club (14.4 minutes per game). It appears the 5-foot-7 point guard could return stateside this season, possibly to play for the G League affiliate Pelicans.
Assuming Nowell signs his Exhibit 10 deal and opts out of it before the start of the 2026-27 season, he would be eligible for a bonus of up to $91,000 if he spends at least 60 days with the Laketown Squadron, New Orleans’ rebranded and relocated NBAGL team. Annex 10 contracts can also be converted into bilateral transactions.

- The Timberwolves signed a contract with the guard as a free agent Stephen Thompson to a training camp contract, according to Garcia (Link to Twitter), and refused protection Jules Bernardtrans NBA.com Transaction Log. Thompson, 29, has played in Italy, Israel, Puerto Rico and the G League since going undrafted out of Oregon State in 2019. He has played each of the last three seasons for both the Bucks’ G-League affiliate and Vaqueros de Bayamón of the Puerto Rican club Baloncesto Superior Nacional. In 45 games for the Herd last season, Thompson averaged 15.8 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 4.0 rpg and 1.2 rpg while shooting .463/.414/.713. The Iowa Wolves will have to purchase Thompson’s rights if the 6-foot-4 guard is scheduled to play for Minnesota’s NBAGL affiliate in the 2026-27 season.
- The Spurs signed Jayden Nunn on Friday, trans Garcia from The Spot Up Shot (Link to substack). The former Baylor guard, who went undrafted last year, spent most of last season with San Antonio’s G League affiliate in Austin. In 47 games during the 2025/26 season, the 23-year-old averaged 15.1 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.3 rpg and 1.1 rpg on .486/.397/.703 shooting. He also played three times last season in Italy for Palaconestra Brescia.
- Anton Watson (Lakers) and David Stockton (The sun) were waived, according to the official transaction log on NBA.com. Both players signed non-guaranteed deals for training camp.
