The 2026 Dusty Rhodes Classic continued with two more teams advancing to the second round during “WWE NXT”.
In the first match, Birthright’s Channing “Stakes” Lorenzo and Uriah Connors took on Mini Vikingo and “Starboy” Chazz Hall. Vikingo and Hall had an early flurry and advantage before they were finally grounded and isolated by Birthright’s stealth tactics.
From there, Lorenzo and Connors took turns working over Hall in their half of the ring. Hall tried to fight off the pair of them, struggling at first, but eventually dropped them with a double Pele dropkick and finally got Vikingo the tag.
Vikingo rallied against the pair of Connors and Lorenzo, landing a Spanish flying plane for a nearfall on Lorenzo. Hall also looked to win the match later on Connors, but Lorenzo broke the fall just in time. He tagged back in and looked to get the win himself with a cover by Hall, but Vikingo hit a springboard to break it up. So an amazing exchange ensued between each man in the middle of the ring.
The closing segment saw Hall take Lorenzo out with a whirlwind DDT after the Viking made a tag, following the phoenix splash for the winning pinfall.
In the second game, FrAxiom faced DarkState’s Osiris Griffin and Cutler James. DarkState spent most of the early stages dominating Nathan Fraser where Axiom tagged in, but then suffered the same fate. They eventually found an opening and worked with their faster-paced offense, finishing with Axiom hitting a Spanish Fly on James, followed by a Frazier splash for the win.
Vikingo and Hall will now take over Vanity Project’s Ricky Smoaks and Chad Baylor in round twowhile facing Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno. The Vanity Project bid adieu to the next round.
