Musumeci is developing his striking in preparation for his MMA debut
Musumeci is currently focused on developing his striking so that he can take the fight to the ground without getting knocked out.
“My goal would be to go into the UFC at 125 pounds and win that belt,” Musumeci told Ariel Helwani. “I’ve got a lot of work to do before then. That means we’re looking very far ahead. One match at a time. Let’s get my level up so I don’t die standing and get me on the floor. I think people are going to be very surprised at my level.”
Musumeci also revealed that he planned to make his MMA debut the day after his win over Mitchell. Although that bout fell through, Musumeci said he is in talks with several promotions to make his MMA debut soon.
