Gall returns to competition after almost two years at
UFC Fight Night 289 September 26 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas. Gall and his wife Kimberly Cortes Gall’s daughter Sainty was born shortly before his last fight in the UFC. He believes that being a parent has forced him to mature not only as a fighter, but also as a person.
Mickey Gall credits fatherhood with changing his mindset before meeting Sedriques Dumas
Gall is ready to go Cedric Dumas on his return. She recently described a change in her mindset amid the new additions to her life.
“I have an awesome daughter, an awesome wife, so I was going to be an awesome dad and an awesome husband,” Gall told Home of Fight. “I’ve been it and I love it; it gives me a lot of purpose. It made me grow up so much. I was a kid when I got into it. I’m happy to introduce myself as a man now; I feel and know the difference now. It’s pushed me to level up. Not just as a fighter, but as a man.”
Gall (7-7) joined the UFC in his second pro fight in 2016. After a tumultuous career, he was briefly delisted after his contract expired in 2022. Although he returned in 2024, he suffered two more losses and has not fought since. Meanwhile, Dumas (10-5) was also briefly released from the UFC last July after being charged with a felony last year. Dumas is in a three-fight slump, all via finishes.
