Professional wrestling is an ever-changing business, but when it comes to WWE, some of the longest-tenured people in the company are the producers and writers. One of those people is Michael P.S. It was Hayes who first took on a behind-the-scenes role in 1999.
Since then, Hayes has remained in that position, which he talked about in an episode of the series. What is your story? He joked that the younger WWE producers these days are “very, very good” compared to the older generation, but joked that they aren’t as good as him. Hayes said Paul “Triple H” Levesque, however, reminded him that he “won’t be around forever” and went as far as naming Hayes’ replacement.
“What does it mean, life or work?” Hayes laughed. “He said: “You’re our Pat Patterson, I need you to make Bobby Rudy (our) Michael. I said: “Okay. That’s a really good point because I’m not going to be here forever.’ Boy, here it comes (Roode). Bobby is really good. He’s going to be great … I see big things for him.”
Roode rose to prominence in TNA in 2004 and hung up his wrestling boots since then. neck fusion surgery in September 2022after only six years of wrestling in the WWE ring. He did transition from a competitor in the ring to a corresponding manufacturer in August 2023
Hayes said Rudd just needs to realize that things happen in the industry that are out of one’s control and you just have to let things go. He said he personally still has trouble doing it sometimes, but said he shouldn’t “waste so much energy” because “you’ve got to do something anyway.”
