Once upon a time, an NFL team was an embarrassing bunch of talent assembled on a roster. It was the easiest and most timely pick to win the Super Bowl. The backup quarterback was a former NFL Rookie of the Year and two-time Pro Bowler. This was a super team, or as that QB, Vince Young, called it, a “dream team.”
These were the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles, looking at December 1st and their record read 4-8. They finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs. By all accounts, it was danger.
The talk surrounding the 2026 Rams echoed that sentiment. A super team with a magical season. A Super Bowl favorite. Estimated people Realized How to navigate the ocean better than any NFL team before them.

25 years have passed. Today marks a quarter of a century since the 9/11 attacks had a profound impact on everyone in this country. Games were cancelled, tearful tributes were paid and things were long celebrated. But for some sports people, the memories didn’t end there.
