UFC 4 night went down last night (Saturday, September 12, 2026) at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, which saw Jean Silva to beat Jose Delgado through a third round submission (see it again here). Evening at the joint main event Brandon Moreno defeated Joseph Morales by split decision, however Tommy McMillen insured an an impressive unanimous decision win Marwan Rahiki.
Who he should face next: Aljamain Sterling
Silva has championship aspirations, but I just don’t think that’s in the cards after defeating an unranked foe. Although it was an impressive wini’d like to see him step in and defeat a top ranked foe before we start thinking about a title fight. Initially, he was put on his face Yair Rodriguez at this event before “El Pantera” bowed out. I still wanted to revisit this fight, but Rodriguez hasn’t been the most reliable guy in recent years. Aljamain Sterling called “Lord” scrap metal, and it kind of makes sense. Sterling is currently ranked 4th and on a two game winning streak. We book it to see who gets closer to the title picture.
Who should he face next: Kyoji Horiguchi
Moreno was able to snap his two-game skid after defeating the game Joseph Morales through a split decision. It was the former UFC flyweight champion’s first win in over a year, so it should do wonders for his confidence moving forward. Moreno is still there ranked No. 3 division, so he deserves someone in the Top 5, hence the fight against Horiguchi (No. 5) is reasonable. Horiguchi saw his eight-fight unbeaten streak end in the last fight Manel Capeso he’s hungry to get back on track. This is a great fight between two former champions looking to return to another title fight.
Who he should face next: Jamall Emmers
McMillen won his third consecutive UFC fight, as well as his own third consecutive $100,000 post-fight bonus. He later revealed that he would like to fight in Las Vegas, Nevada at the end of the year, which would be his fourth fight of 2026. Maybe a fight against someone Emmers is in order. Like McMillen, Emmers has a knack for getting things done and has won three of his last four fights by knockout. Emmers is currently on a three-fight winning streak and was last seen by knockout Lerryann Douglas last month (see it here). I see an all out war again if these two match up.
Grasso picked up his second straight win after defeating the No. 2 seed. Manon Fiorotby unanimous decision. Natalia Silva and Wang Cong is set collide for the vacant Flyweight title left behind Valentina Shcvchenko at UFC 332 and Grasso is expected to face the winner. Shevchenko may be out for a long time (more about it here) and Grasso is the next woman in line. Let’s not complicate it by making him fight someone else.
Who he should face next: Vitor Petrino ? ? ?
Blaydes got back to winning ways by defeating him Waldo Cortes-Acosta by unanimous decision. He should pass for #5, but finds himself in an unusual spot as far back as who we should face next. Alexander Volkov (No. 2) is set face down Rizvan Kuniev next, whom Blaydes has already defeated. Sergei Pavlovich(#3) has three wins and a win over Blaydes, but that was three years ago and I’d like to see Serghei Josh Hockey (No. 4) next. Vitor Petrino is currently ranked No. 8 and is scorching hot with four straight wins since moving up to heavyweight. It’s not uncommon for UFC matchmakers to make fights that may not make sense in the rankings, so this is a fight that could be next in the absence of better options. Blaydes has alternated between wins and losses in his last six fights, so he hasn’t been consistent enough with the wins to turn down such a fight or demands.
Who he should face next: Mario Bautista
All Martinez does is win. The talented bantamweight won his eleventh fight in a row and remained undefeated inside the octagon (4-0) after the defeat. Dan Ige by unanimous decision. Martinez, currently ranked No. 8 in the division, could gain a spot or two next week. As for his next challenge, maybe against Showdown Mario Bautista makes the most sense at the moment. Bautista (No. 5) is riding a two-fight winning streak and is 8-2 in his last 10 UFC fights. Sitting at No. 6 is Corey Sandhagen and has lost two in a row Aiemann Zahabi — who sits at No. 7, is coming off a knockout loss Sean O’Malley.
