For the second time, Elaina Black fell victim to a time limit for the TNA Knockouts Television Championship. In this event, Black challenged M By Elegance, the inaugural champion, for the title. Thursday night’s edition of TNA Impact.
At M’s request, the entire Elegance Brand except himself was banned from ringside for the KO TV Title match. But that didn’t stop M from resorting to questionable tactics.
At one point, the reigning champion pulled Black to the outside, aiming to stomp on his arm as it sat atop the steel steps. Black was able to move out of the way and push the hand instead. Then the referee M.
When the action returned to the ring, M hit some chops in the corner and bridged into a Northern Lights suplex for a nearfall. The Elegance Brand member continued his momentum, squeezing the chair while snapping Black’s fingers back. A knee to Black’s ribs followed, along with a single leg kick along the apron.
In the final moments of the game, M went up to perform a moon attack on the way down. Instead he met the mat and a knee to the face. After taking a suplex next, M rolled out of the ring asking how much time was left on the clock. When he re-entered, he and Black traded rolls, the latter being followed by a Black Out by the challenger. Unfortunately, this move ultimately proved futile as the bell rang before the referee could count three on his subsequent cover.
M won the title by defeating Jada Stone in the finals of a competitive tournament on August 27. Black originally competed against former NXT star Wendy Chu in the tournament. Due to the strict 10-minute time limit attached to the championship, however, both were disqualified when the clock ran out in the opening round. Black later got a second chance to pursue it winning the final fatal four-way match.
