Better safe than sorry…
Following UFC Vegas 122 last night (Sat 10 Oct 2026) inside Meta Apex Promotion officials confirmed in Las Vegas, Nevada MMAmania.com that one combatant was transported to a local “Sin City” hospital for preemptive evaluation after sustaining combat damage.
This fighter was a Strawweight veteran Loopy Godinez.
Godinez (15-6) was transported for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face following his controversial unanimous decision victory. Ketlen Souza.
The 33-year-old escaped “Sin City” with an official victory, but very few agreed with the judges.
In addition to fans immediately labeling the result as road robbery, all but one media outlet Souza won the fight. The Brazilian landed the more damaging shots and did enough to clear in the opening two rounds.
Still, all three cageside judges awarded the contest to Godineze.
The contested win put Godinez in the win column after a second round loss to the former title contender Tatiana Suarez (watch the highlights), which snapped his two-fight winning streak.
At the time of publication, the results of Godinez’s scans had not been made public.
This is normal that the UFC would transport fighters to the hospital as a precaution, especially after fighters are engaged in damaging three-round bouts, suffer nasty knockouts, or sustain injuries that require further evaluation.
