Jake Paul didn’t just alienate fight fans scheduled boxing match against kickboxer Cedric Doumbe in December, but “Problem Child” also left his brother scratching his head.
Paul recently announced that he will return to the boxing ring on December 24 from the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Some expected Paul to fight Darren Till or someone bigger than him, but the social media influencer will instead take on Doumbe in a 200-pound cruiserweight matchup. The fight will go eight rounds and will obviously be the Christmas Eve main event.
Although Doumbe is a very successful kickboxer who once had a promising MMA career, he is not the most obvious choice for Paul. “Problem Child” is coming off a huge knockout loss to Anthony Joshua and is in desperate need of a win, but Doumbe hasn’t fought in any fight format in over two years. Looks like Paul could have reached deeper into the bag.
Earlier this week, Paul broke the news of his upcoming fight to older brother Logan Paul, who had absolutely no idea who Doumbe was. Elder Paul was happy to see his brother back on the horse after Joshua’s loss, but confused when Doumbe’s name was brought up.
