When working with WWE, most celebrities just make one-off or frequent appearances. Rapper Lil Yachty, on the other hand, has confirmed as a regular on WWE programming it’s been a few months already. According to Yachty himself, this is to be expected since he has been under contract with WWE since around WrestleMania 42.
when appearing on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” Yachty revealed that his journey to WWE began with a meeting where he told the company’s head of music, Neil Lowy, to keep him in mind for any job opportunities. Later, Lowie turned around again, thinking A yacht accompanying WWE SmackDown star Trick Williams Ringside at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. Yachty agreed, but indicated that he would be willing to do much more, even if it meant traveling on his own dime.
“I didn’t want to just show up at WrestleMania,” Yachty said. “I was saying: “A few SmackDowns ago, can I come to SmackDown and introduce our friendship?”
At that point, Yachty and Williams were familiar with each other, having met twice before. But it wasn’t until they exchanged direct messages and phone calls that they became close. Onscreen, Yachty emerged as the spokesperson and manager of Williams, who entered WrestleMania as the number one contender to the WWE United States Championship. Before The Show of Shows, WWE CEO Bruce Pritchard then approached Yachty with a big offer.
“WrestleMania came and Bruce Pritchard put me on the goat,” Yachty recalled. “…Bruce sat me down during rehearsals and at first I thought I was in trouble. He pulled me aside and said. “You’re here more than I am. How about you come down and be with the family?’ “What?” He offered me a contract and I said: “Actually I did.” I can’t believe I actually did it. The goal you set is to achieve the goal. When he offered me a contract, I said: “Wow, this is great!”
