City of Coventry Boss Frank Lampard said his players “proved they can do it” after securing their first Premier League win of the season.
Jay Dasilva scored the only goal of the game a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest as the Sky Blues recorded their first top-flight win, and goal, in 25 years.
Igor Jesus saw what he thought was a late equalizer ruled out for a foul in the build-up as Coventry held on for a famous win at the City Ground.
Speaking after the game, Lampard could not hide his delight at the result.
The Coventry manager told Sky Sports: “I feel great, I feel amazing. The way the players worked for it. (It’s a) tough place to come in. We knew after losing our first four games in different circumstances, it’s easy to think negatively and think where is the goal and where is the win coming from?
“The reality of football is that you have to fight for it, you have to work for it, you have to have organization.
“I can go through a lot of players today and how they worked. You make your own luck with VAR, I think it was a foul, but when you work that hard I think the boys deserve it. It’s huge mentally for the team.”

“Not everyone is Wayne Rooney”
Lampard said many of his players are experiencing Premier League football for the first time and hopes the win can help boost morale after a difficult start.
“Not everyone is a Wayne Rooney or a superstar who can only own,” Lampard said.
“That can give us confidence now. The guys today showed they can do it.”
Next up for Coventry after the long international break is the visit of Newcastle, followed by a trip to Tottenham.
