The Baltimore Ravens were in trouble after Lamar Jackson was sidelined with an injury, and things went badly in his first game back. Jackson injured his hand on the opening play of the game and was rushed to the locker room for further evaluation.
It’s unclear from the video what exactly happened, whether Jackson landed on his hand and arm or made contact with another player. As he was being escorted off the pitch, he wrapped his injured arm in a towel, holding his arm to his side in a manner that certainly didn’t look good.
The official word is that Jackson’s return is doubtful. The key is what steps the Ravens need to take in the locker room. This may be a doctor’s evaluation and a pain-killing injection, which will allow him to return – or it may be an X-ray to determine if there is further damage to the structure of the hand.
Either way, it’s bad news for the Ravens, who no longer have the margin to be without a QB this season.
