After the report earlier today what Nix give up the injured center Drew EubanksESPN’s Shams Charania (Link to Twitter) confirms that the team has also decided to cut the Big Man Tony Bradley and wing Broken black.
Ian Begley of SNY.tv (Link to Twitter) first reported that the Bradleys were opting out, and Stefan Bondi of The New York Post (Link to Twitter) was first in Agbaji news.
Eubanks, Bradley and Agbaji were three of five veterans in camp with the Knicks on a non-guaranteed basis Appendix 9 of contracts and battled for a spot in the team’s regular season. The only two of those camp invitees still in the mix are in the center James Wiseman and swingman Bruce Brown.
While the Knicks technically have two open spots on their standard 15-man roster, keeping Wiseman and Brown would require the team to either exceed the second tax bracket or trade another player to stay below that threshold. If New York does not make a trade and team owner James Dolan still unwilling to even temporarily move into second apron territory, one of those players will have to be waived before Monday’s roster cut-down deadline.
Reports this fall indicated that the Knicks would likely prefer to keep the center as a backup Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond. If that’s still the plan, Wiseman would have the edge over Brown for the 14th roster spot.
Bradley, the 28th overall pick in the 2017 draft, has played 234 regular-season games over eight NBA seasons, including 41 games in 2025-26 with Indiana and Atlanta. He has career averages of 4.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per contest and has recorded 5.3 ppg and 1.7 ppg on 7.5 mpg in three preseason games for the Knicks this month.
Agbaji, a 2022 lottery pick, played for the Jazz, Raptors and Nets during his four-year rookie contract. The 6’5″ wing had a promising season in Toronto in 2024/2025, averaging 10.4 ppg and 3.8 ppg on .498/.399/.708 shooting, but his playing time and performance dipped last season and he was traded to Brooklyn in the Finals trade. Although he was eligible for restricted free agency this summer, he did not receive a qualifying offer from the Nets.
Both Bradley and Agbaji can be offered non-guaranteed minimum salary contracts by any team with room on the 21-man roster. If they clear waivers, they will become unrestricted free agents.
