Reigning NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson announced Thursday on a live episode of his Roommates Show podcast (Link to video on Twitter) that he is “cleared” for the next training camp July wrist surgery.
Reports during Brunson’s procedure indicated that his availability for the 2026/27 regular season opener in October was not in jeopardy. The Nixthe star point guard confirmed it today.
Brunson averaged 26.0 points, 6.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 35.0 minutes per game in 74 games during the 2025/26 regular season. The 30-year-old increased his scoring average to 28.4 PPG during an unforgettable postseason run that saw the Knicks go 16-3 and win their first championship since 1973. Brunson was named Finals MVP after scoring 45 points in Game 5 of the series.
Brunson’s injury, which he suffered during the playoffs, was later described as a a matter of tendons in the left wrist. In late August, he suggested he was recovering well from the procedure.
