Hokit’s controversial statements have drawn criticism from prominent figures
Ultimate Fighting Championshipincluding the CEO Dana White and veteran Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer.
Josh Hokit defends UFC Freedom 250 tag after Bruce Buffer calls for more class
Buffer recently criticized Hokit’s post-fight comments about former First Lady Michelle Obama
UFC Freedom 250.
“I don’t like what he’s talking about,” Buffer Kick told streamer N3on. “He’s disrespectful. Show your class. I didn’t appreciate the things he said in the White House. Young people today don’t have many role models. We live in a decaying society; the way people behave.”
Hokit responded by asking if fighters should be seen as role models. He contrasted his trash talk with what he described as a criminal record and allegations involving other UFC fighters.
“I talk trash in the Octagon, but the guys on this list have actual criminal records and rape charges,” Hokit posted to X. “I don’t have a criminal record, but I’m not classy enough? You do realize we’re in the gladiator business, right? Are men who try to kill other men really supposed to be your role models? Lol.”
Hockey (10-0) is scheduled to challenge Cyril Gane
(14-2) for the heavyweight title at UFC 334 November 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
I talk trash in the Octagon, but the guys on this list have actual criminal convictions and rape charges. I don’t have a criminal record, but I’m not stylish enough? ๐You do realize we’re in the gladiator business, right? Should men who try to kill other men really be your role models? lol
