José Ramírez just made Cleveland Guardians history! On September 18, 2026, Ramírez hit his 1,000th career RBI during the Guardians’ 5-3 comeback victory over the Athletics in Cleveland.
José Ramírez finished 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs, becoming only the second player in Cleveland Guardians franchise history to reach 1,000 career RBIs, joining Earl Averill.
The historic homer also moved Ramírez closer to another incredible MLB milestone: the 300 home run and 300 stolen base club. After reaching 300 career stolen bases earlier this season, Ramírez now needs only three more home runs to reach 300 career homers.
The Guardians remain in a tight American League Central race as the 2026 MLB regular season reaches its final stretch. After returning from hamate bone surgery in July, Ramírez continues to battle through a challenging season while helping Cleveland compete for a postseason spot.
