he has a legitimate chance to dethrone Cyril Gane
when the couple meets
Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight title at UFC 334.
Gane (14-2) will defend his title against the undefeated Hokit (10-0) on November 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Jones, who shared the Octagon with Gane, discussed the matchup to The Schmo, saying his countryman could beat the French champion.
Jon Jones explains why Ciryl Gane beating Josh Hokit at UFC 334 would also benefit his legacy
Jones praised Hokit’s recent UFC performances and coaching staff, but admitted a win over Gane would boost his own image. “Bones” submitted “Bon Gamin” to win the heavyweight title in 2023.
“Josh looks good right now,” Jones told The Schmo. “He’s doing a great job; he’s obviously being coached by the best in the world. I’ve always supported wrestlers and supported wrestlers. So I believe Hockey can very well be beaten, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say it doesn’t make our brand great when Ciryl Gane beats people.”
Hockey is trained at
Jackson-Wink MMAwhere Jones trained for much of his career.
