Jon Jones attacks Colby Covington’s career after Gable Steveson’s knockout
Jones has fired back at Covington ever since. “Bones” noted that even though they were once college roommates, he has accomplished much more than Covington in his career. Jones also took issue with Covington’s criticism of his negative energy, saying the former interim welterweight champion needs security when traveling in his home country.
Jones argued that Covington’s repeated criticism of him shows that “Kaos” is obsessed with him.
“It’s funny that you blame Gable’s loss on my ‘negative energy.’ Meanwhile, I’m an undefeated fighter living the absolute American dream,” Jones wrote on X. “Before he got hit, our guy had finished every opponent in the first round. Your logic makes no sense. I also find it funny that you of all people comment on my supposedly negative energy. I travel the world alone and get mobbed by fans while you need full-time security in your home country. You come out quarterly to do an interview about me and what a horrible person I am. Boy, you are me obsessing. The blind man could see it. I’ve earned and achieved literally ten times more than you. It’s sad to even turn to you.
Covington has not competed in the UFC since losing in December 2024 Joaquin Buckley and has since competed in wrestling matches, primarily under the Real American Freestyle banner. Jones, meanwhile, vacated the heavyweight championship in 2025 but has repeatedly teased a return to the Octagon.

I sincerely hope that one day you will feel better. It is sad to even address you. … again
