There is love is not lost between former college rooms Jon Jones and Colby Covington.
Ever since Covington started talking wildly in public, “Bones” has been a consistent source of inspiration for his trash talk. Any Jones controversy warrants a Covington comment because “Chaos” will stop at nothing to make sure everyone in the world knows that Jones is “A horrible person.” Meanwhile, Jones has fired back on several occasions, especially whenever semi-retired Covington tasted defeat in the octagon.
About two weeks later, Jones has hit back on social media.
“It’s funny that you blame Gable’s loss on my ‘negative energy,'” Jones wrote. X. “Meanwhile, I’m an undefeated fighter living the absolute American dream. Before he got caught, our guy had finished every opponent in the first round. Your logic makes no sense.
“I also find it funny that you, of all people, comment on my supposedly negative energy. I travel the world by myself and get mobbed by fans while you need full-time security in your home country. You come out once a quarter to do an interview about me and what a horrible person I am. Boy, you’re obsessed with me. A blind man can see that.
“We started in the same dorm room, yet I’ve earned and accomplished literally ten times more than you. I sincerely hope that one day you’ll feel better. It’s sad to even address you. … again.”
After the initial response, Jones also posted a picture Covington’s infamous broken jawwhich took place during his first title fight versus Kamaru Usman. Jones added: “Colby, I think your deep hatred is directed at the wrong black man. Usman broke your face, not me.”
