Just a few days before Bound for Glory, tonight at the Go-home edition “TNA Influence” rookie Joe Alonzo has secured the top spot in this year’s Call Your Shot Gauntlet as he will be the final entrant at No. 20. The same cannot be said for Trey Miguel, who will take over the top spot after his loss to Alonzo.
Tonight’s eight-man tag team match was explosive as wrestlers flew, interference occurred, and both legal and illegal tags were made. Somehow, however, Alonzo kept his eye on the moment of the shot after AJ Francis (who was on the same team as Alonzo) tagged him after Francis dove into Miguel with a TFL to earn him the win.
Sunday’s contract game will be Alonzo’s first. The independent star signed with TNA last August after successfully retaining his AAW Heavyweight Championship against The Home Town Man. Blocking.
The winner of the Call Your Shot Gauntlet will win a trophy that can be cashed in at any championship, at any time. The winner can keep the trophy for up to one year after winning it.
Bound for Glory kicks off live this Sunday from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida on TNA+.
