Injuries are a part of life in the NFL.
Including in the distribution booth, obviously.
During the first half of Sunday’s game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Buffalo Bills, analyst JJ Watt and play-by-play legend Jim Nantz attempted a “peanut punch,” with Watt holding the football and Nantz applying the punch.
It was not good for Nantz.
“That was a lot harder than I thought you were going to go,” Watt said.
“My wrist is broken,” Watt reported Nantz as saying after throwing the punch, asking his broadcast partner for some ice. The broadcast went to a commercial break at the two-minute warning.
Watt returned to Nantz after the break, his wrist wrapped in an ice pack, and Watt asked:
As you can see, Nantz rolled his wrists and said, “(g)he hurt the last two quarters because a few guys had to play.” He mentioned that there are.
Including the broadcast legend itself.
