Last year, John Cena enjoyed his 17th and final world title, capturing the undisputed WWE Championship and surpassing Ric Flair’s 16-time world champion record. At this stage, with Cena leading the rankings, there is only one person who has a realistic chance of breaking the record anytime soon: Randy Orton.
“He’s only, what, three away from Cena… You know, Randy could do that, man?” JBL said “Something for wrestling“Just twenty years ago, what Randy is now would have been considered old. now it seems (he is) no longer old. He’s in better shape now than he was in 2008. I mean, she looks amazing. … Randy may eventually break John Cena’s record, or tie that record, or certainly come close. I mean another championship or two, which I certainly think he will have.”
With 14 reigns and tied with Triple H, Randy Orton is still two championship wins away from being tied with Cena, plus a third if he hopes to best the all-time record. Orton has admitted that he aims to win another world championship. and “The Viper” has noted that his pedigree as a third-generation pro wrestler makes the sport more important to him, making the idea of another world title shot something he doesn’t take lightly.
