The Hawks continue to complete their staff for the upcoming season.
After before hiring legendary European coach Ettore Messina as a consultant, the team added Jason Love and Sergi Oliva fill in head coach Quinn Snyder“Hawks” announced in a press release.
Love spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the Bucks, where he focused on player development. Before that, he played for the Sixers for five seasons. He will serve as an assistant coach for the Hawks.
Oliva spent the last four seasons with the Trail Blazers as general manager, where he reached headlines for being suspended two weeks without pay for his role on the team in illegally contacting Young Hansen before he was eligible for the draft. In the 2024/25 season, he was also the head coach of the team’s G League affiliate, Rip City Remix.
Like Messina, Oliva has experience working with Snyder, having served as an assistant coach with the Jazz from 2020-22. He will serve as the Hawks’ basketball strategy and development advisor.
