Jalen Suggs suffered a terrible non-contact injury in the Magicwin over the Knicks on Sunday. He fell to the floor holding his right knee after it buckled after attempting a layup in transition.
He was helped off the court and immediately returned to the locker room, reports Jason Bead for the Orlando Sentinel (via Twitter). He did not return to the game.
Nicks head coach Mike Brown began his postgame speech with a prayer for Suggs, per James L. Edwards III of The Athletic (Link to Twitter).
A magical head coach Sean Sweeney said he spoke with Suggs after the game and that the defensive end was in good spirits, according to Bidde (via Twitter). Sweeney was unable to provide an update, except to say he will be evaluated later, possibly today or tomorrow for an MRI.
Suggs has battled injuries throughout his career, playing fewer than 58 games in all but one season of his career, including arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in 2025. The Magic will now await the results of Suggs’ tests and hope the injury looks worse than it really is.
