Jacob Smith is unfinished business Kevin Holland — and he wants to solve it fiercely.
The undefeated Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight prospect went 13-0 as a late-notice replacement was scrapped Bruce Whitehead in just 92 seconds on the clock UFC 332 last weekend (Saturday, October 3, 2026) at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah (watch the highlights).
Smith whipped Whitehead to the canvas and knocked him unconscious with a brutal punch, improving his UFC record to 4-0 with four finishes.
However, “Cobe” had to face a much bigger test against the Netherlands.
After going through two separate training camps without a fight, Smith is ready to make Holland pay.
“I want to kill Kevin Holland,” Smith told UFC.com after the win. “I want to murder Kevin Holland. He put me through two fight camps. I also organize my life outside of the fight and I put it on hold to start the fight and then you cancel the fight week and make us reschedule – you agreed twice and then you don’t show up in Utah.”
To make matters worse, Holland has already accepted another fight.
The booking left Smith wondering how Holland could be healthy enough to take on another opponent after retiring from the game.
“Your leg still hurts, but you agree to fights with other guys,” Smith said. “You better hope Uros Medic can get your ass out of there, because if you win, I’m coming after you.”
Smith’s obsession with the Netherlands did not come out of nowhere. After destruction Josiah Harrell UFC in Houston earlier this year (watch the highlights), the former NCAA Division I wrestler specifically called the UFC commentator “The Trailblazer.” Daniel Cormier told him Holland was “kicking his ass.”
Holland agreed, but eight months and two abandoned training camps later, the two middleweights still haven’t shared the Octagon.
If Holland survives Medici next month, the UFC may try to book the fight for the third time.
Something tells me Smith will show up.
