New TNA Knockouts World Champion Indy Hartwell spoke passionately about his world title shot. Bound For Glory.
Hartwell defeated Sia Brookside to win her first title in TNA Wrestlinga year after missing the opportunity at last year’s Bound for Glory. In an emotional message following her victory, the Austrian star revealed how delighted she was to win the title after embarrassing herself last year.
“First of all, it’s crazy how much can change in a year. Last year at Bound For Glory I was going for the title, trying to bring it home, NXT had it. I didn’t get the job done, in fact I completely humiliated myself. My family was right in the front row. he said
The match was officiated by TNA Hall of Fame referee Mickie James, whom Hartwell idolized and said James’ presence meant a lot to him. He also spoke about the trials and tribulations he had to go through to achieve his goal, making the achievement even more valuable.
“And the crazy part is Mickie James was the special guest referee and before the game I was just thinking and realizing how big and special this is,” he said. “Having Mickie there, somebody that I’ve watched on TNA TV, I’ve watched him have crazy matches, and now he’s there, it makes me feel better. He was there for me to win my first title here in TNA, so yeah, I’m very thankful. I’m thankful for all the hiccups, all the times I failed, like all the times. I’d have to do it all over again, I’d go through all the trouble because it’s always worth it in the end.”
