It happened Ilya Dragunov’s awesome AEW debut last Saturday at WrestleDreamas the orchestral entrance of former WWE stars likely did as much to establish him as any plain old wrestling match. Before he will his in-ring debut “Dynamite” Against “Speedball” Mike Bale, Dragunov introduced people with his debut. when appearing on “The Ariel Helwan Show” Host Ariel Helvani was outraged by the entry and asked Dragunov who came up with the idea. According to Dragunov, it was a mix between him and AEW.
“Since the works have started, it has always been cooperation,” said Dragunov. “It’s always worked together. So all the ideas that were coming from the company and all the ideas that I had in my mind creatively just flowed so well into each other. Like, it was such a beautiful procedure to work on.”
Dragunov admitted that the part of the presentation that touched his heart the most was his entrance music, “Soviet March”. The song, which was created for the popular 2008 “Command & Conquer. Red Alert 3” for the video game, is special to Dragunov because it was important in the early years of his career.
“I don’t know how many people in the states are aware of this, but when I started my young, young career in Germany, independent wrestling in Germany, that was my entrance music,” Dragunov said. “This led me at the youngest, youngest years, to my biggest moments, which put me on the stage in Europe, got me to the UK, got me to the US. So a lot of my career is based on that music. And when I heard this music and logged into WrestleDream on Saturday, I felt like a kid in the business again.
