“The Executioner” Adam Page and Brodido defeated Swerve Strickland and Nor Level to regain the World Triathlon Championship. AEW WrestleDream:.
Paige didn’t need much encouragement, but she ended the fight with Strickland almost as soon as she was tagged in as she was tripped by Strickland outside the ring. The brawl saw members of both teams try to break things up, though Brody King joined in the attack on Strickland until he was broken up by Paige, who served as a rare voice of reason.
The champs continued to score in the first fall as Coffey and Austin Creed hit the Midnight Hour Bandido to make it a three count. They looked for a quick win, with Strickland hitting the Swerve Stomp and making the cover before Paige broke it up to start their next brawl.
Bandido equalized the fall after a spell where the King cannonballed Creed and Kofi into the corner at the same time, followed by a Buckshot from Paige to Strickland, and the Monkey King reversed Bandido into a senton for a pinfall on Creed.
Bandido managed to get the pinfall after surviving all three of his opponents, avalanche reversing bodyslams on both Creed and Kofi, and then hit the JML Driver for a turnbuckle.
After the match, Strickland refused to hand over his title belt to Page, while also calling for The New Level to hold off on King and Bandido. They ignored him and handed over the titles and Strickland dropped it in front of Paige before leaving.
Strickland and New Level defeated Page and Brodido for the titles at All In in August and came out last in the Trios Roulette Royal to win gold on their first night together. They retained the titles against the former champions at All Out before scheduling their Two Out of Three Falls rubber match.
