Before Greece-Germany
Greece will seek to complete a UEFA Nations League to bend Germany when the two sides meet in Thessaloniki on Sunday night.
The hosts top Group 2 of the A-League with seven points from their opening three games, while Germany are third with four points after recording their first win of the campaign against Serbia.
Greece have enjoyed an excellent start to their 2026-27 Nations League campaign, picking up seven points from their opening three games to move top of Group 2.
Ivan Jovanovic’s side opened with a 2-1 win away to Serbia before producing one of the biggest results in their recent history to beat Germany 1-0.
Germany, meanwhile, finally got their first win under Jurgen Klopp by beating Serbia 2-0 on Thursday.
Klopp’s reign began with a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands before Greece spoiled their opener at home with a 1-0 win.
The former Liverpool manager responded by making significant changes against Serbia, and the decision paid off as Tom Bischof scored his first senior international goal before Florian Wirtz added the second.
The result leaves Germany with four points from three games and gives them the chance to match Greece with all three points in Thessaloniki.

Greece-Germany team news
Greece will be without Christos Tzolis after the Arsenal forward picked up a hamstring injury during the 2-2 draw with the Netherlands.
Tzolis has left the Greece camp and returned to his club for further assessment, ruling him out of Sunday’s game.
Germany do not have a number of established players, such as Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala.
Klopp used the win over Serbia as an opportunity to assess some of the less experienced members of his squad and could continue that approach in Thessaloniki.
Florian Wirtz should keep his place after scoring and assisting against Serbia, while Serge Gnabry is another experienced attacking option at the German manager’s disposal.

Prediction for Greece-Germany
Greece have been one of the standout teams in the group so far and have already shown they are capable of causing Germany problems.
Jovanovic’s side will be confident at home after picking up seven points from their opening three games, although the loss of Tzolis removes an important attacking option.
Germany finally showed signs of progress under Klopp against Serbia, but Sunday’s game represents a tougher test against a Greece side who have already beaten them once during this international window.
