Perth-based SVNS have marked 100 days until the 2027 tournament by unveiling some of the headliners who will be providing entertainment during an entertaining weekend of action in Western Australia.
Having seen sell-out crowds in its 2026 iteration, Perth’s SVNS tried to build on the Party of Seven vibe, with a ‘Go Tropical’ theme introduced for its 2027 iteration.
The weekend will be headlined by British pop icon Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who will appear in an Australian exclusive show on Saturday 6 September, with local dance-pop stars Sneaky Sound System closing the weekend on Sunday 7 February.
Ellis-Bextor is best known for her 2001 disco-pop hit ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’, which was revived in 2024, returning to the charts more than two decades after its release.
Sneaky Sound System are also a highly regarded Australian summer product, known for their hits ‘UFO’ and ‘Pictures’.
“We can’t wait to come back to Perth and party with you at HSBC SVNS next year,” the band confirmed after their unveiling.
“Perth knows how to throw a good party, and we’re ready to let loose with you.”
With the Perth SVNS known for its hot conditions, organizers are ready to lean on the tropical feel, with party zones, a party booth to host the shows, as well as brass bands, Brazilian drummers and Pacific Island dancers to add to the fun.
The event will also feature a street food truck market, dessert carts and a special shaded area for fans to use to cool off, Palm Paradise, which will also feature acoustic sets and relaxed live music.
It sets the scene to make the Perth SVNS one of the most exciting stops on the circuit, and reflects the fun the HSBC SVNS Series serves up at the park.
“Perth will be partying with our Aussie Sevens all-star champion when the world comes to town for HSBC SVNS Perth in February,” Rugby Australia chief executive Phil Waugh said after the star-studded charge.
“With an international pop star and Australian dance icon on the bill, as well as world-class athletes gearing up for the Los Angeles Olympics, there’s something for everyone.
“Grab your loudest shirt, gather your crew and come for some rugby, music and atmosphere at Perth’s premier international summer party.”
“HSBC SVNS Perth is the highlight of Western Australia’s summer event calendar, bringing world-class sport, music and an incredible atmosphere to the heart of Perth,” added WA Minister for Tourism, Trade and Investment Roger Cook.
“Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Australian-exclusive performance gives visitors from across the country another reason to book a trip.
“We encourage everyone to make a holiday out of it: come early or stay and explore our beaches, Rottnest Island, the Swan Valley and everything else that makes WA the dream state.”
