GB Sevens Flyer Ellie Boatman has joined the JAECOO Premiership Women’s Rugby Champions Saracens ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 29-year-old has represented Team GB at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the 2023 European Games, the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games and the 2022 Rugby World Cup Weeks in Cape Town.
She spent the 2018/19 season with Saracens, where she represented their second XV, before appearing at London clubs Richmond, Wasps and Harlequins, and more recently Trailfinders Women.
She recently played in the Ultimate Sevens for the Atlantic Novas, and the team finished the three-stage competition as runner-up.
Ellie Boatman, Saracens winger, said: “I’m really excited to be back at the club after eight years. Saracens were my first Premiership club and they gave me my first opportunity, so it feels like a full-circle moment.”
“I’m really excited to pull on the shirt again and make more memories with my new teammates.”
Last season, as Trailfinders reached PWR final, Boatman made eight league appearances for Barney Maddison’s West Londoners.
She also represented Great Britain Sevens in the HSBC SVNS World Championship, as the team were eventually relegated from the First Division in Rugby Sevens.
Alex Austerberry, Saracens Director of Rugby, said: “It’s great to welcome Ellie back to Saracens after her time at the club during the 2018/19 season. Ellie has developed incredibly well in the transition period and has been incredibly successful, particularly with the GB Sevens.
“Ellie has always had great potential, and you can see her game blossom from her U18 days at Esher, through the start of her senior career at Saracens to now. I’m very excited to see Ellie’s pace and finishing capabilities here at StoneX.
“Her experience, talent and work rate will ensure we see the best of her in a Saracens shirt, which is exciting for fans and coaches alike.”
