UFC Vegas 122 is less than 24 hours away…
This weekend (Sat 10 Oct 2026) it all goes away Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight contender in the main event Brendan Allen collides Christian Leroy Duncan in meeting veterans and potential customers.
We have a weekly series at MMAmania.com called “Weekend Lock,” where we share one bet we predict when the chaotic dust settles in “Sin City.” We also want to hear what our readers think (that’s you!), so tell us your most confident UFC Vegas 122 Betting Lock in the comments section below (see all UFC Vegas 122 odds here).
Summary of last week: Boy oh boy was I wrong about UFC 332 Ateba Gautier vs. Roman Kopylov didn’t go over 1.5 rounds as Kopylov knocked Gautier out – who the hell saw that coming?
Let’s keep rolling below:
A longtime UFC veteran Another Fili clashes with the Hawaiian-born featherweight Kai Kamaka III in a game that has all the components to steal the show.
And while I expect an entertaining entry, I don’t expect either fighter to finish.
I’m going to lock myself away this week Fili vs Kamaka to go the distance (-150).
This fight has Night fight written on it.
Both Fili and Kamaka are experienced, well-rounded fighters who aren’t afraid to stand and exchange in the pocket. Neither is particularly interested in a boring fight and I look forward to 15 minutes of competitive action.
The good news? Neither man is exactly a finishing machine.
Fili has just one finish since 2019 (see it here), which is pretty remarkable given how many times he stepped into the Octagon during that stretch. “Touchy” is a talented striker with plenty of weapons, but he’s far more used to winning fights on the judges’ scorecards than putting opponents away.
And Kamaka is not much different.
In fact, Kamaka has zero finishes in his UFC career.
He is a technical striker who relies on his volume, movement and ability to string together combinations rather than overwhelming opponents with one-punch knockout power. He’s happy to trade three rounds, but history suggests he’s unlikely to knock people out of the blue.
That’s exactly what I want for this bet.
Fili has been around forever and has faced the best featherweights in the world. He’s seen just about everything the precinct has to offer, and Kamaka doesn’t bring anything particularly out of the ordinary that should catch him off guard.
Meanwhile, Kamaka has shown that he can stay competitive in prolonged striking battles, and I expect him to be more than ready to match Fili’s output.
Neither fighter has a significant grappling advantage either, which screams early submission.
In the end, this looks like one of those fights where both men land a lot of clean shots, get their moments and leave it to the referees to decide.
Fili has been shut out several times in his career and his willingness to switch can get him in trouble from time to time. Kamaka can also surprise everyone with a perfectly timed strike, while Fili definitely has enough power to hurt opponents by connecting cleanly.
And with both fighters capable of putting on an entertaining streak, there’s always the chance that things will get too chaotic.
Still, neither man has consistently shown the ability to finish UFC-level opposition, and their styles should produce a competitive back-and-forth fight rather than a quick stoppage.
It might even win Night fight.
But it goes all three rounds.
Give it to me Andre Fili vs Kai Kamaka III for distance (-150) like this week’s “Weekend Lock”.
Andre Fili via TKO/KO/DQ: +250
Via Andre Fil’s submission: +2000
With Andre Fili’s decision: +250
Kai Kamaka via TKO/KO/DQ: +600
Via submission by Kai Kamaka: +2200
How to decide: +200
