After years in India, Ryan Nemeth debuted in AEW back in 2021, enjoying three years in the promotion before leaving in 2024 when his contract expired. Nemeth’s departure, however, sparked controversy after he made several allegations of locker room harassment. followed by a lengthy legal battle with CM Punk and Tony Khan.
Looking back on his AEW exit, Nemeth claimed that he considered leaving professional wrestling after what happened. “I politely said ‘no thank you’ several times,” he said in an interview.Death Arts XIII By Ash,” implying that TNA has repeatedly reached out to him since AEW. “In my personal life, I’ve been a little sidetracked from all things wrestling, which has made it seem like I don’t want anything to do with this (business) anymore.”
Nemeth noted that there were some “half-truths” about what happened, but insisted that he was down on pro-wrestling in general. Because of this, when someone from TNA reached out, Nemeth claims he didn’t want to wrestle at all. “That conversation continued for several weeks or months,” he said.
Eventually, Nemeth got to the point where he set a few conditions, namely that he didn’t want to be “indulged in random eight-man tag matches on the Internet that no one is watching” or be an employee. In response, TNA told him that there was an angle involving him and his brother Nick Nemeth that was better suited to what he wanted.
“This actually sounds great. have a company idea vs. “Would you like to be cannon fodder for people we really care about?” he said. “It was the company that said: “You’re special, and we’d love to use that in our TV stories.” It was exciting for me.”
