Erling Haaland has urged Manchester City fans to stick together ahead of a crucial week for the club after the verdict on their Premier League financial case
City prepare to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday before hosting Champions League champions Paris Saint-Germain three days later.
The games come amid uncertainty over the club’s future after an independent commission found City guilty of breaching Premier League financial regulations, with the club appealing the verdict.
Haaland, however, is focused on things on the pitch and believes maintaining a positive atmosphere will be important as Enzo Maresca’s side look to continue their perfect start to the domestic season.
Speaking on Manchester City’s official website, Haaland encouraged supporters traveling to Anfield to enjoy the occasion and continue to support the team.
“I think they (City fans traveling to Anfield) will have a good time,” he said.
“We have to stick together, we have to stick with each other and we have to stay positive.
“No matter what happens in life, we always have to have a smile. We have to be positive, look forward and try to win football games and try to enjoy the situation and win the game.
“We need to stick together and we need to spread love to each other.
“So yeah, stick together, enjoy the ride and smile.”
City have won their first five Premier League games and head to Merseyside looking to strengthen their position at the top of the table.
Haaland is also in fine form after scoring three goals in four games for Norway during the international break.
“It’s always special to play against Liverpool – I won, drew and lost,” Haaland added.
“It’s always special – every Premier League game is different and every Premier League game against Liverpool is special.”
