Manchester City Coach Enzo Maresca believes that his team deserves more than his Defeat 4-2 in the Champions League at Paris Saint-Germain, claiming that even Luis Enrique admitted the French champions were lucky.
City suffered their first European defeat of the season at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, having fallen three goals behind in the first half.
Erling Haaland scored twice after the break to give the home side hope of a comeback, but PSG held on for all three points.
Despite the result, Maresca was encouraged by City’s performance in the second half and insisted his players created enough chances to get something out of the game.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Maresca admitted his side struggled to recover from conceding two goals in quick succession.
“I think we started pretty well until the first goal and then we got the second after a minute. That created some bad feelings,” he said.
“The second half, we were much better and probably deserved something more.
“It was a bit strange to be honest. Up until the first goal we started quite well, we were in the game, then we conceded the first and then the second.
“We didn’t lose the half, we adjusted something. We created enough to deserve something more.”

City improved after the break, with Haaland scoring twice as the home side looked to claw back from a three-goal deficit.
Maresca explained that tactical adjustments to City’s pressure helped his players create more chances, although he admitted that their defensive balance suffered.
“We got a little tight when we were pressing. I think we lost our balance a little bit,” he said.
“Even with the 3-0 in the first half, with the amount of chances we created in the second half, we deserved more.
“Luis said at the end of the game that they were very lucky today.
“You have to be clinical but not lose your balance.”
