Eddie Hearn claims TKO Group Holdings is the reason for the roadblocks Tyson Fury–Anthony Joshua saga.
Fury Vs. Joshua was targeted in November, but location remains a major issue. Joshua’s side want the fight in Britain, while Fury’s camp has been pushing for New York’s Madison Square Garden. This has left the sides deadlocked and Hearn is blaming the TKO.
Hearn says the TKO New York push will prevent the Fury-Joshua fight from being completed
Speaking to DAZN after Katie Taylor’s retirement fight on Saturday, Hearn claimed that TKO recently reached out directly to Joshua, encouraging him to fight for New York.
“Yesterday (Friday) TKO went to the back again to try and offer Joshua money to fight in America,” Hearn said. “It’s a dirty, dirty game, mate, to be honest.”
Hearn insisted Joshua remains committed to fighting in Britain and claimed the support behind the position has only strengthened the boxer’s resolve. He stressed that the call to host the fight in Britain went beyond commercial considerations.
“If they (TKO) had never intervened earlier, the fight would have already been announced and signed,” added Hearn. “They’re the ones basically saying to British fight fans, ‘We don’t give a damn. We don’t care about British fight fans. We want to fight in America.” It pushes the fight further away because of their behavior.
