Dave Roberts delivered a celebratory clubhouse toast after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a postseason berth for the 14th consecutive season.
Roberts congratulated the players, coaches and staff while reminding the clubhouse that reaching October should never be taken for granted.
“Baseball is hard. We have to celebrate the moments because nothing is guaranteed.”
During his speech, Roberts discussed:
Clinching a 14th consecutive postseason berth
Celebrating everyone who helped the Dodgers reach October
Why postseason appearances should never be taken for granted
The complete commitment inside the clubhouse
Keeping the team’s focus during the final 12 games
Players returning for the stretch run
Improving the defense and baserunning
The pitching staff being “dialed”
Continuing to pursue the NL West title
Fighting for a top-two seed and first-round bye
Why the Dodgers’ best baseball must still be ahead
Roberts challenged his players to “keep the blinders on” and continue playing for one another. While the Dodgers celebrated this milestone, their manager reminded them that more work remains.
“Our best baseball is yet to come.”
The Dodgers still have their sights set on winning the National League West, securing a top-two seed and ultimately capturing another World Series championship.
