As the Browns tried to extend their lead in the third quarter, Watson was sacked by Carolina EDGE Princely Umanmillen on third down. A ref was watching the whole game, but somehow Umanmilen twisted and lost Watson’s face mask as he took it to the ground. Watson is a bad guy, but this is still the most missed call by the refs. Watson doesn’t even have a 70-yard pass entering the fourth quarter, but the Browns’ defense has been good so far against a Carolina offense that has been cooking to start the year. It’s hard for a team like the Browns to win when defensemen miss clear calls against them.
I don’t think anyone would cry for a guy like Watson.
