Dillon Danis has done it again!
The once promising BJJ practitioner and Bellator fighter was ready face with Colby Covington on Tuesday, Nov. 3 in a wrestling match at Hype Fighting in Rome. However, at today’s press conference, the dictators revealed that Danis had withdrawn from the match. This is Danis’ third withdrawal from a contract in less than a year.
Hype Fighting turned those “El Jefe” lemons into lemonade by substituting Danis lemon Mr. Chiwiwis himself, Raul Rosas Jr.
“Unfortunately, Dillon Danis couldn’t come,” said the Hype Fighting promoter. “If anyone wants to wrestle Colby, we can arrange it.”
“I’ll do it, f–k it. Chiwiwis,” Rosas announced as he stepped down from the audience to face Covington.
Danis was scheduled to fight Mike Perry under MMA rules at Duel Arena on August 29, but an unreliable distraction pulled out under uncertain circumstances by sharing the image a cut on his arm that those who observe his antics say was weeks old. Before that, he stopped a boxing match against Anthony Taylor on December’s Misfits card. Official reason given: doctors would not medically clear him fight for a fight in the stands at UFC 322 in November.
Danis hasn’t been a complete slugger: he’s competed in three Real American Freestyle competitions in the last eight months, losing all three matches badly. We’ll see if other promoters continue to book him given how unreliable he’s become.
