Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will finally meet at the end of the year. You probably also know that the hype and drama surrounding this fight is mainly caused by the feud between Dana White and Eddie Hearn.
The two have never gotten along, but their beef began to sizzle when Joshua, who is aligned with Hearn, and Fury, who is aligned Turki Aalshikh White, marked on the dotted line. When that happened, a heavyweight pissing contest began between Hearn and White to prove who was in control and could get the most out of the fight.
More recently, Hearn has emphasized that contractual obligations mean that White cannot participate in the promotion of combat. White has taken every opportunity to tell us that this is not true and that he is not following through on anything.
This morning, White further emphasized his position that he will promote the fight. At 7:01 a.m. ET, he sent a message to X stating that Fury Vs. Tickets for Joshua go on sale this Friday.
“Well, finally everyone…” White said with a slight pause. “All the bullshit is over. Fury vs. Joshua live December 11th from the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Fury, twenty-six wins, twenty-five KOs. AJ, thirty wins, twenty-seven KOs. Tickets go on sale this Friday… Fury vs. Joshua is finally on sale.
White’s 35-second video included some interesting B-roll footage. The grainy and probably not officially licensed clips included Fury fighting Arslanbek Makhmudov, who he defeated by unanimous decision in April, and Joshua knocking out Jake Paul, who he beat in 2025.
Jake Paul… the same Jake Paul that White has gone back and forth with almost as much as Hearn. And the same Jake Paul who recently merged his MVP MMA promotion with the PFL to prepare to challenge White’s UFC supremacy.
White’s early morning announcement may have been a quick job to catch Hearn. Hearn finally announced that tickets were on sale, but it came thirteen minutes later — at 7:14 a.m. ET.
This little commute is great for us. That leaves us with no shortage of things to write about on sites like ours. However, it begins to overshadow the fight itself. Fury and Joshua are past their prime, but this is the biggest fight anyone can do on the planet right now.
Hopefully the fight will go ahead this time, unlike when Fury made an announcement mistake in their first attempt by dropping the name of a notorious and alleged organized crime figure. If and when this fight does happen, we’re sure to get an exciting spectacle between the ropes, as well as a lot more fun and games between White and Hearn before and probably after the fight.
