Previous Coventry v Newcastle
Second from the bottom Coventry host Newcastle on Monday hoping to pick up where they left off before the long international break.
Frank Lampard’s side recorded their first Premier League win of the season, and the club’s first in 25 years, when they beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 at Camp de la Ciutat on September 19.
Jay Dasilva’s solitary strike was also the Sky Blues’ first in the top flight in a quarter of a century in what was a memorable evening for last season’s Championship winners.
Lampard admitted the win was a “relief” but insisted his players have done it “must they can do it” in the Premier League.
He added that he has seen progress in his team but is “not too happy” with just one win in five games so far this season.
“There will be things that they will learn naturally as they go along and my job is to be there to support them and understand that if they keep going, keep working, the belief will grow with that,” Lampard said.
Newcastle, meanwhile, will also be hoping to maintain their pre-international form, following a 2-1 win over Hull City three weeks ago.
The Magpies have enjoyed a steady start to the campaign under new boss Matthias Jaissle, but it was a miserable final outing for the German as his side suffered. a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Leeds United.
Jaissle insisted he’s “finally settled” at Northeastern after moving into his apartment over the break.
Speaking about his hosts ahead of the game, Jaissle acknowledged that Coventry have “momentum” and “confidence” but said that if their players are performing at their best, “it will be difficult to beat us”.
He also praised Sky Blues head coach Lampard, who he described as a “pure legend” and one of the players he looked up to.

Team news for Coventry v Newcastle
Coventry could see the return of right-back Milan van Ewijk to the squad after a hamstring injury. While the 26-year-old may have to settle for a place on the bench, Lampard is unlikely to start him above Caleb Yirenkyi.
Kaine Kesler-Hayden has also returned to fitness, but with the Englishman out of action since May, he is unlikely to return straight into contention.
The likes of Haji Wright, Luke Woolfenden, Josh Eccles and Aurele Amenda are still sidelined, while Taiwo Awoniyi completes a three-match ban following his sending off at Brighton.
As for Newcastle, Jaissle has revealed he expects “three or four” injured players to return for Monday’s trip, including Joelinton and Nico Gonzalez.
It has been hinted that at least one of Jacob Ramsey, Amar Dedic, Anthony Elanga, Dan Burn, Will Osula, Lewis Miley and Tino Livramento could make the bench.
However, Ewen Jaouen (hamstring) has been ruled out for up to two months.

Prediction for Coventry – Newcastle
Although there has been a buzz around the hosts following their first league win of the season, their lack of firepower in front of goal can only mean that Newcastle will come close to this one.
