France’s Cloé Correa and Ambre Mwayembe learned their fate after receiving red cards in their team’s 29-26 win over Australia.
Both players received red cards in Aix-en-Provence in the first half WXV Global Series Match 2026 At one stage of the match, France was reduced to 11 players.
Loosehead prop Mwayembe accepted she had committed a foul and a red card was warranted. She made a dangerous match in which she made head contact with an Australian player.
The foul play review panel determined that the mid-range entry point was appropriate and awarded him a 50% mitigation. The 22-year-old has been suspended for three matches but will have it reduced by one after successfully completing a coaching intervention programme.
Currently, the prop will miss the Test against this weekend Canada in La Rochelle as well as tours against the Black Ferns in New Zealand.
Correa, who received a permanent red card for making eye contact with an opponent, was suspended for two matches. The foul play review panel determined that there was contact with the eye, but that it was not direct or intentional.
The committee found that a low entry point was appropriate and Correa was also given 50% mitigation after accepting that an act of foul play had occurred.
The forward will miss this weekend’s game against Canada and their first test against the Black Ferns next month. Correa’s ban will further expand François Ratier’s options, especially with the absence of team captain Manae Feleu and Madoussou Fall Raclot.
South Africa lock Danelle Lochner, who was sent off for a dangerous tackle, will take part in a full disciplinary hearing on Tuesday, September 22. A ball forward was ruled out in the 35th minute after a build-up by the foul-checking official.
