The 2026 NFL campaign is reaching the midpoint of the regular season.
But you might not get the wild game from Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Sid Lamb on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
When the visiting Cowboys faced 3rd and 12 in their own territory, taking a 20-17 lead, Indianapolis brought the game to quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott took several passes to his face and threw to Lamb down the right sideline. When Prescott failed to make the throw, the pass was dropped and the Lamb had to return the football.
He did, making a diving catch in front of rookie cornerback Kenneth Harris.
And that’s when the chaos began.
Harris slipped on his own break, and that gave him enough separation to catch Lamb Brewing. But Harris was alert, got to his feet, picked up a block and went untouched all the way as he cut the running Sheep into the red zone.
That’s when he fumbled, lost the ball and, following a challenge from Colts head coach Shane Steiche, Indianapolis took over possession.
You can watch the entire sequence here:
The FOX Sports booth said at the time that since he was a rookie, Harris didn’t need to touch down. After all, in a college game, a player went to the ground with the football and fell to the ground and the game was whistled.
Instead, it gave the Lamb a chance to pick up an extra yard, allowing Dallas WR to fumble the ball after a short, brilliant start.
And no one was happier for that bravado than Harris.
