The Cavaliers re-signed Riley Minixwhich was refused from his two-way slot on Thursday to make room for application with Norchad Omerthe team announced in a press release. Tristan Enaruna was released to provide another two-way opening.
Minnix, a 26-year-old small forward, appeared in one game with Cleveland this season before being waived with no points and three rebounds in six minutes of action. He played six games with the Cavs last season and three with San Antonio before being waived in December.
Minnix spent most of the 2025/26 season with the Cleveland Charge, the Cavaliers’ G-League affiliate. In 24 games, he averaged 18.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 30.1 minutes per night.
Enaruna, a 25-year-old small forward, has played in three games this season, averaging 2.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10 minutes a night. A bilateral contract was concluded with him, which he signed on January 28.
The Cavs decided to part ways with Enaruna after he suffered an ankle injury late in Friday’s win over Philadelphia, a source said. Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com (subscriber link). Initial testing indicates Enaruna could miss a significant amount of time, and the team will retain his G League rights while he recovers.
The Cavaliers currently have three injured rotation players Jarrett Allen (knee injury), Jaylon Tyson (dislocation of the ankle) and Sam Merrill (elbow injury treatment), so they brought Minix back to have another healthy wing on the roster, Fedor adds. He heard the team would continue to explore two-way options, but Minix was considered the best choice for now.
