Carlos Prates predicts that Islam Makhachov will go down 29-2 in a potential UFC title fight
Makhachov (29-1) claims he wants to return to the Octagon before Ramadan, his second title defense in late 2026 and early 2027. Prates (24-7) shared a message to Makhachov on social media, in which he confirmed that he is already training for Dagestan.
“Yes, Makhachov… Whatever I go through in this gym, someone will pay for it,” Prates said on his Instagram stories. “And guess who pays? You!”
In a separate post, Prates claimed that Makhachov’s record is 29-2 since their clash.
“Davai (Russian for “come on”) brother! 29-2!”
While the UFC has yet to confirm Prates as the next welterweight title challenger, all signs point to the Brazilian knockout being next in the running for UFC gold.
