The Motor City Machine Guns are now AEW stars after leaving WWE in the spring. Speaking “Lost Open Radio” their former TNA rival Bully Ray (A.K.A. Bubba Ray Dudley) credited Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin for their skills and being instrumental in his career.
Bully began by saying that it took a little while for him and D-Von Dudley to get on the same page with MCMG when they started working together. The two teams had different approaches to wrestling, but Bully confirmed that they created magic together when they were able to get on the same page.
“I personally pick the Green Guns, specifically Chris Sabin, as the first person to ever push out of 3D,” Bulley said. “Him coming off the sideline and being first was obviously a big deal, but that’s why me and D-Von go our separate ways.”
The rivalry with Team 3D began in the early days of the Motor City Machine Guns’ tenure in TNA, and when their feud ended in 2010 with Bully celebrating, it led to him turning on D-Von and creating the character Bully Ray.
“I loved working with them. Interesting tag team. I would love to see more of them in WWE, but it’s not easy to survive as a traditional tag team in WWE and I wish them well no matter where they wrestle on the planet. They’re really good guys.”
After appearing in AEW over the summer, Sabin and Shelly returned to the company earlier this month following a one-off match on the 2022 edition of AEW All Out.
